mostly single track packed earth. steep climbs with senic vistas overlooking the missouri river. A bit confusing in the valley where the lewis trail, 5.3 miles, splits in one direction and the clark trail goes another for the 8.2 mile loop. both trails meet up 1 mile from the trail head. this is a moderate rated trail in some areas.
hwy 40 to hwy 94. turn SW and drive 2.4 miles trail head on the left.
